Does Civil Disobedience in Family Court work?
Rob Emert did it - here's what happened
Excerpt: "This is really what the very beginning where I really
didn't know anything and I was just trying to get through the
process and I was wishing that we could just you know of course
have the whole divorce as be done and and I was making offers left
and right but that again, that's here nor there at this point, but
I was I just didn't realize I was walking into a mess. And I was
walking into really when I look in retrospect, it was a sucker
punch trap. And everybody knew that was going on in the divorce
pretty much except me. And so back to you know, back to the
peremptory challenge. So Commissioner comes in. We stipulate but
then I talked to somebody at the facilitator's office, at the
courthouse, and they told me basically look, you can still use your
peremptory challenge because no orders were made. And so I found
the peremptory challenge and this is warning bill number one,
basically Commissioner Patty Radek, and even though I requested her
to remove herself, using my peremptory challenge, she still stayed
on the case. That you know, that was concerning right there. At
that point, I didn't know that her supervising boss, her
supervising judge was friends and work has worked with my ex wife
for years. So again, I found that out much later..."
